R&B Siren Adina Howard offers us a look into her new world of music and plans for the future. She’s been keeping busy recording as an independent artist, touring and expanding her career
on her own terms but there still so much this diva wants to do and the sky’s the limit.
Adina Howard fills MahoganyGirl.com in on the new album and her future plans.
The New Album… “The topics will include life situations because we all go through something… Be it with someone else or just yourself. There will be something for the nights and the club… And of course I have to give you the music for the moments of pleasure”
Touring… “The fans overseas are real cool… They’re very supportive and they love artists from the states… My favorite performance moment was in Shreveport, Louisiana… It was for Super Safe Sunday the crowd was excited and ready to get their groove on… When I hit the stage it was on the moment for me that made the show so memorable was when they were singing “Nasty Grind” word for word… I had no idea that people loved that song and still really don’t have one… I don’t know how well the song actually did…”
Friendship with Tupac Shakur… “I was able to get to know Tupac through a mutual acquaintance… He was in prison at the time… I was told that Pac wanted a picture of me and wanted us to keep in touch… So I agreed… Our letters to one another were respectful… We wrote about what was going on in our lives… I enjoyed being around Pac… I was relaxed around him… There wasn’t any pressure… Like me… Pac would speak his mind if it hurt your feelings it hurt your feelings… There wasn’t anything about him that shocked me… But I do have to say that I miss him a lot… I miss our conversations and being able to pick up the phone and call him to say ‘hey, just checking on you’… I miss my friend…”
Future Career Plans… “Right now, I’m trying to map out a plan for a few things that I’m interested in… I’m looking at getting a degree in culinary arts and applying that knowledge somehow… I would love to become a certified life coach because I look forward to opening up a group home for women… But it’s a little difficult for me to focus on anything other than music right now because it’s time consuming…”
